Free access to the lick means he can maintain his mineral intake himself making it easier for everyone. As they are manufactured to be harder than most other licks they will last in most weather conditions. Particularily useful for horses kept at grass in the spring and summer months when they may sweat more and therefore loose more salts through the sweating process.
