EBL Free Johne’s Disease Free High Energy Colostrum EBL Free Johne’s Disease Free High Energy Colostrum For oral administration to calves as soon as possible, or at least within six hours of birth. Reconstitute in water (40°C) according to the pack instructions to form a palatable solution for oral administration. Shake well to mix. Colostrum should be fed warm to give the best results. Ensure that all utensils and containers are kept scrupulously clean. Use clean fresh water at all times. Never mix colostrum powder with boiling water or reheat in a microwave as this will damage the milk proteins and vitamins present. Use luke warm water (40°C) and make only on demand. When mixed do not leave to stand for more than two hours. For animal use only. Simultaneous supplementation of additives with a maximum content from other sources shall be avoided. Quantity Ensure the calf receives at least one feed of colostrum within 6 hours of birth. Only one feed should be required, though may be repeated as an energy boost within 24 hours if needed. Three to four feeds should be given to orphan calves, as a replacement for maternal colostrum.
